Merge PDF files

Several PDFs into one - in the order you decide.

Stays on your device – Your PDF is processed in your browser and is not uploaded.

You can also paste with Ctrl+V.

What you type is processed in your browser and never sent to us.

How to do it

  1. Pick your files

Drop them in or choose them. You set the order in a moment.

  2. Arrange the pages

Every page sits side by side. Drag them into place - across file boundaries too.

  3. Leave things out

Anything that should not go in: select it and drop it from the arrangement.

  4. Merge and download

The result carries the names of your source files.

What this is for

The application is four attachments, the job application is a cover letter, a CV and three references, the expense claim is twelve scanned receipts. What is needed is one file - in a particular order, not the one the files happen to sit in.

Here you see every page of every file side by side and drag them into place. That works across file boundaries: page 3 of one document can sit between pages 1 and 2 of another. Anything that should not go in, you select and drop from the arrangement - the original files are left untouched.

Text stays text. Pages are carried across as objects rather than redrawn: fonts, links, form fields and searchability all survive.

Different page sizes stay different. An A3 drawing among A4 pages is not quietly squeezed to A4 - it stays A3. The tool tells you when the result holds more than one format, so the printout does not surprise you.

One thing that does surprise people: the result can be larger than all the inputs together. Embedded fonts are carried across separately for each source file - twenty documents using the same font carry it twenty times. When that happens it is said in the result, and you can shrink the file afterwards.

Common questions

No. The merging happens entirely in your browser. For contracts, job applications and expense claims, that is exactly the difference from the better-known services.

Yes, that is the whole point. Every page of every file sits side by side; you drag each one to where it belongs.

They stay as they are. An A3 drawing among A4 pages stays A3 - nothing is unified. The tool does tell you when the result holds more than one format.

Because embedded fonts and images are carried across separately for each source file. With many files sharing a font that adds up. The tool points it out - you can shrink it afterwards.

Yes. Pages are carried across as objects, not redrawn as pictures. Fonts, links and form fields survive.

No. An encrypted file cannot be opened without the password; the tool says so rather than failing at it.
