Add a watermark

Put a logo on a picture - by dragging, not by typing coordinates.

Stays on your device – Both pictures stay on your device. They are combined in your browser - nothing is uploaded.

A PNG with a transparent background works best.

Drag inside the picture to move it.

What you type is processed in your browser and never sent to us.

How to do it

  1. Pick a picture and a watermark

A PNG with a transparent background works best.

  2. Drag and adjust

Position by dragging, size and opacity with the sliders.

  3. Save

PNG keeps transparency; JPG needs a background colour.

What this is for

Where a watermark belongs depends on what is in the picture - over a face it is wrong, in an empty corner it is right. That is a judgement made by looking, not by calculating, so here it is dragged rather than entered as coordinates.

Preview and saved picture come from the same drawing routine at different sizes. A preview computed by a second code path can disagree with the result, which is the one thing it must never do.

Common questions

No. Both pictures are read and combined in your browser. There is no request that could transmit them.

JPG has no transparency. Transparent areas take the chosen background colour - for a cut-out logo that is everything around it. To keep transparency, save as PNG or WebP.

Yes. The preview is scaled down; the saved file has the full size of the original, stated below the preview.

Partly, yes - that is deliberate, for lettering that runs off the picture. It cannot be pushed out entirely, or it would vanish without anyone noticing.
