Convert Markdown and HTML

Both directions: Markdown to HTML and HTML back to Markdown.

Stays on your device – The text stays on your device. Converting and saving happen in your browser - nothing is uploaded.

Show preview

What you type is processed in your browser and never sent to us.

How to do it

  1. Pick a direction

Switching carries the result over as the new input.

  2. Paste the text

    Conversion follows as you type.

  3. Copy or save

As a fragment or as a finished page.

What this is for

Both directions in one tool, because they are the same task seen from two sides: a text exists in one notation and is needed in the other.

The HTML is sanitised before it is shown, in both directions. Markdown may contain raw HTML, and pasted HTML is foreign material either way: a <script> has no place in a preview.

Common questions

They become Markdown tables. Markdown has no merged cells and no block content in cells, so the content survives and the structure inside a cell is flattened.

No. Scripts, style blocks and event attributes are removed before anything is displayed.

The GitHub ones people actually type: tables, task lists and strikethrough.
