Copy it, or save it as Word, PDF or Markdown – one file or all of them as a ZIP.
What this is for
A place for whatever needs writing down right now: a phone note, a shopping list, a bit of copied text you will need again in a minute. Every note is a file of its own, and the most recently changed one sits at the top.
A file is either plain text or Markdown. Markdown files get the formatting bar from the Markdown editor and a preview; full screen shows the formatted document. Beautify recognises JSON, HTML, XML, CSS, SQL and JavaScript and indents them properly; in Markdown files it aligns tables.
Everything is saved in your browser as you type. Signed in, the files are also kept in your account and follow you to every device. Without an account they never leave your device.
Common questions
In your browser, on your device. Only when you are signed in are they also stored in your account, so you have them on your other devices. Clearing the browser storage without an account deletes the notes as well.
The version saved last wins. If two devices change the same file at the same time, the later change is kept.
It turns the content into plain text: HTML markup and Markdown characters go, and so do the invisible characters and non-breaking spaces that come along when copying out of Word, a PDF or a website. Ctrl+Z undoes it.
JSON, HTML, XML, CSS, SQL and JavaScript – the format is recognised automatically. In Markdown files, tables are aligned. With text selected, only the selection is formatted. JSON is only re-indented, never re-calculated: even very long numbers stay intact digit by digit.
